Atmosphere, folklore elements, and Sandra Oh’s performance kept me hooked.

Just finished watching Umma this weekend, and I have to say that it was such a treat seeing Sandra Oh step into a horror role! The movie’s premise: grief, generational trauma, and the fear of becoming your mother. It was eerie and fascinating.

It might not be the scariest film out there, but the atmosphere, folklore elements, and Sandra Oh’s performance (I do still think Cristina Yang is her best role) kept me hooked. Plus, there’s something really fun about watching a story where family ties turn terrifying.

Have you seen Umma yet? What did you think?
