From the very opening pages of the book, you know something bad has happened. A murder sets the tone right away and immediately hooked me into the web of secrets. The multi-POV structure is one of the novel’s greatest strengths: switching between characters gave the narrative a layered feel and kept me guessing about just who was responsible and why.

One thing I really appreciated was how the story maintained its suspense even after I figured out the likely culprit about two-thirds of the way in. Even with that guess locked in, the payoff still delivered and felt earned. It’s not just about finding the killer—it’s about unraveling how and why everything happened, and Lisa Jewell handles that twisty path with skill.

That said, the pacing did shift occasionally, and while the slow build added to the tension, some parts felt a little drawn out. Overall though, the clever plotting, the voyeuristic tension between characters, and the neighborhood of seemingly perfect people hiding dark truths make this a thriller well worth your time.

If you enjoy psychological suspense with multiple viewpoints, creeping suspicion, and twists that stick with you, Watching You is definitely one to add to your list.
